MIDLAND, MI., Oct. 26, 2023 — DuPont today announced that its Clear into the Future program has awarded grants to two non-profit organizations in Midland – the Chippewa Nature Center and the Little Forks Conservancy.

Established in 2007, DuPont clear into future is an employee-driven program that supports projects that protect and improve the natural environment in communities where DuPont operates. Grant recipients include non-profit and academic institutions that are aligned with the purpose of the program – to drive positive impact by protecting the environment and empowering the community to thrive.

Chippewa Nature Center will receive a grant of $9,900 to support a land restoration project that aims to remove invasive exotic plant species followed by the planting of a diverse array of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. This project is expected to increase biodiversity in the Great Lakes Bay Region in ecosystems that are seeing the greatest decline in species, such as wetlands and fields.

"We are so excited to be a recipient of DuPont's 2023 Clear into the Future grant," said Dennis Pilaske, Executive Director of Chippewa Nature Center. "CNC’s strategic land restoration goals are focused on restoring and maintaining healthy and diverse ecosystems, which lines up perfectly with DuPont’s objective to protect biodiversity. Their financial support will truly improve local ecosystems."

Little Forks Conservancy will be awarded a grant of $9,050 which will be used to restore biodiversity on two properties including their Averill Preserve and the 106-acres they recently acquired along the Tittabawassee River. The project will involve removing non-native invasive species, planting trees, and constructing the necessary infrastructure to create an accessible nature preserve.

"Little Forks Conservancy is beyond grateful to be selected for DuPont’s Clear into the Future grant," said Elan Lipschitz, Executive Director of Little Forks Conservancy. "We look forward to partnering with DuPont and their employees in our community to improve critical habitats along the Tittabawassee River benefiting water, wildlife and people. We are thankful for DuPont’s commitment to the environment and our community."

"We are thrilled to support Chippewa Nature Center and Little Forks Conservancy in their commendable efforts to promote environmental conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems," said Heather Litle, Community Impact Manager at DuPont. "These organizations have demonstrated commitment to the same values that Clear into the Future represents, and we are proud to be able to contribute to the success of their projects."
