DuPont Demonstrates Decarbonization Progress in New Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for DuPont™ Tyvek® Building Wrap
WILMINGTON, Del., July. 11, 2025 – DuPont (NYSE: DD) today announced that it has published an updated Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its Tyvek® wrap products in North America. This EPD provides the embodied carbon information that builders, contractors, and architects are increasingly seeking as they work to measure and mitigate the carbon associated with their buildings.
The EPD covers all Tyvek® HomeWrap®, Tyvek® StuccoWrap®, Tyvek® DrainWrap®, Tyvek® DrainWrap CA®, Tyvek® CommercialWrap®, Tyvek® CommercialWrap CA®, and Tyvek® CommercialWrapD® products sold in North America. The EPD demonstrates, for the first time, the embodied carbon impact of producing DuPont™ Tyvek® wrap products using electricity derived from renewable energy certificates (RECs), an approach that DuPont has upheld since 2022. The EPD demonstrates that the A1-A3 embodied carbon for these products is reduced by roughly 7% by utilizing RECs, which serve as one step toward our commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
“As home builders, regulatory officials, and investors continue to factor carbon into their decision-making, we’re committed to making embodied carbon information available for the solutions that we bring to the market” said Shawn Hunter, Global Sustainability Director for DuPont Performance Building Solutions. “Building wrap is among the top product categories for which builders are seeking EPDs*, and as we innovate to decarbonize our portfolio, we look forward to sharing our progress through EPD updates like this one for Tyvek® wrap”.
This EPD reflects DuPont’s commitment to maintaining and expanding its portfolio of EPDs to address customer and stakeholder needs in the built environment. This addition extends DuPont’s existing portfolio which includes EPDs for Styrofoam™ Brand XPS Insulation, Froth-Pak™ Spray Foam Products, Thermax™ Sheathing , and Corian® Solid Surface products.
