DuPont™ Great Stuff™ Launches The Great Pantry Project to Fight Food Insecurity

The Great Pantry Project provides a resource for communities to build and locate free little pantries around the country to help close the gap for often hidden and vulnerable households

WILMINGTON, Del., Dec 15, 2020 – Great Stuff™, an industry leader in Insulating Foam Sealant Solutions, today announced a new social responsibility initiative, The Great Pantry Project. The project supports communities experiencing food insecurity by helping them build free little pantries for non-perishable food and essentials. Great Stuff™ launched The Great Pantry Project to empower, enable and connect people during moments of crisis – giving builders and people the resources they need to come together and support their communities.

As the COVID-19 pandemic accelerates through winter, lack of access to food could reach critically high levels for families and communities across the United States. Results from the U.S. Census Bureau Household Pulse Survey show food insecurity has doubled for the overall population and tripled among households with children. While local food banks and pantries are critical in addressing food security issues, increasing local access to crowd-sourced community pantries can help fill the gap.

As part of the new program, Great Stuff™ has released downloadable blueprints and an instructional video that gives builders of all skill levels a step-by-step guide to constructing a free little pantry they can install in their communities. In addition to the downloadable blueprints and video, Great Stuff™ has assembled resources to help community members with everything from determining an ideal location for their pantries to tips for stocking the pantries once they are built and installed.

The Great Pantry Project is for anyone who wants to build better, more resilient communities. As people across the country continue to grapple with uncertainty about the future and what they can do to help, this project offers an opportunity to channel the passion and pride that comes from making their mark.
