The DuPont Salisbury manufacturing facility is located in the city of Salisbury, North Carolina. In late 2021, it became the third DuPont facility in North Carolina, and so far is the only manufacturing facility in the world that produces the DuPont™ ArmorWall Fire-Rated (FR) Structural Insulated Sheathing™ (SIS) line of products.
The Salisbury manufacturing facility was originally run by the company MaxLife Industries, who developed the ArmorWall FR SIS and other lines of products. Production of ArmorWall FR SIS first began in 2011 at a smaller manufacturing facility down the road in Salisbury, and then moved into its current larger location in mid-2021. DuPont acquired the ArmorWall FR SIS assets and manufacturing facility in December 2021.
Today, the site manufactures DuPont™ ArmorWall Plus Fire-Rated Structural Insulated Sheathing™ (SIS) and DuPont™ ArmorWall SP Plus Fire-Rated Structural Insulated Sheathing (SIS), which are high-performance building enclosure products for the commercial high-rise, mid-rise, low-rise, and multifamily markets. The Salisbury team contains a combination of innovators in applied building science and construction materials manufacturing. Together, their leadership team has more than 100 years of experience in the industry.
Our primary product line is the DuPont™ ArmorWall Plus Fire-Rated Structural Insulated Sheathing™ series. Through its patented Fusion Technology that combines five traditional building enclosure products into one, ArmorWall Plus FR SIS™ has become the industry’s most innovative building enclosure system in just a few years’ time. Our panels enable architects to pursue previously unattainable design features with additional industry-leading benefits for structural strength, durability, continuous insulation, and fire, air, and water-resistance.

On October 18, 2021, ArmorWall Plus Fire-Rated Structural Insulated Sheathing™ was awarded the The Architect’s Newspaper 2021 Best of Products Editor’s Pick Award in the Weather, Air Barriers and Insulation category. The annual award recognizes new manufacturer products for innovation, aesthetics, performance and value. Entries are reviewed by an expert national jury of architects, engineers, construction and design professionals, as well as AN editors.
On June 15, 2021, MaxLife Industries* was awarded the Acquisition International Magazine 2021 Global Excellence Award for Best Building Enclosure Product Manufacturer. The Global Excellence Awards are an annual program in which recipients are determined via a thorough process of research, analysis, shortlisting, and selection by an in-house jury. Awardees are selected based on their hard work and notable achievements throughout the year.
