In 1999, DuPont introduced BETAMATE™ structural adhesives to the market to help enable lightweighting, reduce welding and fasteners, and improve stiffness and crashworthiness in vehicle bodies. Since then, BETAMATE™ has grown into a proven family of solutions that can be tailored to meet demanding structural bonding specifications and requirements from our customers.
The BETAMATE™ portfolio is comprised of one-part (1K) and two-part (2K) epoxy and epoxy-acrylic systems and includes broad bake structural adhesives. Our formulations are designed to support a wide range of automotive applications, from modular assembly for joining sub-systems to battery assembly where strong, reliable bonds are critical to safety and performance.
BETAMATE™ broad bake structural adhesives are a novel solution enabling sustainable manufacturing of next-generation electric vehicles and have been recognized with several major industry awards. The lower adhesive curing temperature enables a reduction of the e-coat oven temperatures for more sustainable manufacturing and facilitates novel electric vehicle design enhancing battery integrity and helping improve passenger safety.
