Providing virtual well-being support during the pandemic
The global pandemic caused drastic changes in ways of working, work locations, and work-life balance. We understood the need to support our employees across multiple dimensions of well-being during these life-altering changes. Our Integrated Health Services team coordinated with our wellness platform provider, Virgin Pulse, to offer an expanded suite of stress management, mental wellness and personal development resources. Throughout April and May in 2020, we made new webinars, training videos, multi-week wellness programs, online courses and reading materials available to help employees cope with the early days of quarantine. The programs focused on improving mental resilience, increasing physical activity, enhancing financial literacy, and information on healthy eating.
Programs from one such vendor, Whil, were downloaded over 3,000 times in the United States and Puerto Rico during April and May in 2020. Whil uses a neuroscience approach to help employees focus on mindfulness and positive psychology in daily sessions and programs. We also recognize that times of stress and uncertainty may motivate people to improve their ability to budget and take a more active role in their managing their long-term finances. The Enrich program empowers employees to become financially well, helping them to live happily within their means and enabling them to plan for long-term goals. Outside of mental wellness resources, the financial literacy content offered by Enrich was our the most popular content among our employees.
Based on these results, we made the full Whil and Enrich content suites available to DuPont North America in 2021. We also enhanced our Employee Assistance Benefit globally to include up to 12 in-person or virtual visits to support short-term counseling for our employees and their immediate family members. This enhancement included an increase in our work-life benefits such as resources for child-care, elder care, and legal or financial services.

Whether it’s in meeting market- and business-specific needs, developing technical or leadership skills, achieving better health and safety outcomes or living our core values, our programs are there to support them.
