Collaborate with our customers and key partners to bring green chemistry innovations to the market and drive continued reduction in the presence of priority substances in our portfolio.
As we innovate toward a sustainable tomorrow, we must apply green chemistry to develop solutions that are safer by design.
DuPont™ Thermax™ polyisocyanurate insulation was intentionally reformulated to remove halogenated substances. The resulting LBC Red List Approved Thermax™ Non-Halogen (NH) Series products offer consistent, high-performance R-value and can be left exposed on interior walls and ceilings without the need of a thermal barrier. With this reformulation, we are the first Class A polyisocyanurate sheathing manufacturer to phase out the halogenated flame retardants commonly used in building insulation polyurethane foams while continuing to meet stringent wall building code requirements.
This certification – the highest level of independent certifications in terms of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) – demonstrates best-in-class performance in terms of VOC emissions, going beyond compliance with the applicable VOC regulations in Europe.
