Jim Fahey

James (“Jim”) T. Fahey is President of DuPont’s Electronics & Imaging business, (E&I), a $3.6 billion world-leading electronic materials portfolio distinguished by its expertise in integrating advanced materials to meet customer needs, a global market presence, and best-in-class manufacturing capabilities. In this role, Jim is responsible for setting and driving the business’ strategy and operations to capitalize on transformational market trends and enable differentiation through innovation.  


With over 25 years of progressive business leadership experience, Jim’s leadership and experience span the electronics materials industry from its early days to today’s emerging technologies at the center of a connected world. 

Jim was named President, Electronics & Imaging for the Specialty Products Division following the DowDuPont merger in September 2017. From 2015 to 2017, Jim was President of Dow’s Electronic Materials Business Group. He joined Dow via the acquisition of Rohm and Haas Company in 2009, where he was Global Business Director, Semiconductor Technologies and Global General Manager, Growth Technologies, following his role as Business Director, Microelectronics and a vice president of Rohm and Haas Company

Jim’s well-rounded understanding of emerging science, marketing and customer needs has its roots in his Director roles overseeing functions including R&D, Engineering and Marketing for Rohm and Haas’ Microelectronics Division (then Shipley Company), and from the start of his professional career at IBM Corporation in 1991.

Jim currently sits on the board of directors for 5N Plus Corporation in Canada and is a previous board member of NEMI and Semi NAAB.

Jim received a Bachelor of Science in organic chemistry from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. He earned a M.S. in polymer chemistry from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Cornell University.
