Keeping drinking water flowing at major desalination plant

Potable water supplies have been significantly affected by climate change and population growth in Perth, Western Australia, where the Perth Seawater Desalination Plant plays a key role in ensuring reliable, high-quality drinking water.

The plant, which was the largest in the southern hemisphere when it was constructed, has around 18,000 DuPont FilmTec™ reverse osmosis (RO) elements. The facility operates at a recovery rate of 45 percent for the first pass seawater RO and 90 percent for the second pass brackish water RO.

Find out more about this technology’s excellent track record in operating performance, reliability and durability at the Perth Seawater Desalination Plant.
