A water company in southern Brazil that produces potable water using surface water from a lake needed to increase production to provide sufficient high-quality drinking water for local communities.
Five modular container units from Logisticon were deployed, each equipped with 48 UF dizzer® modules* from inge® arranged in parallel, offering an additional treatment capacity of 800m3 per hour. The mobile nature of the units and the modularity of the solution meant that they could be installed quickly while providing future flexibility to the customer.
One of the major challenges was the high turbidity (up to 100 NTU) of the lake water caused by suspended solids in the water as a result of rainfall. A pre-treatment solution was used to counter the high turbidity peaks encountered during start-up, allowing the plant to achieve a recovery rate of 94%.
