As you’ve likely seen in the news, the community of Midland, Michigan has faced unprecedented flooding after two dam failures this week.
In response to the flooding, we safely idled all manufacturing assets at our Ion Exchange Resin plant to protect our employees and prevent catastrophic damage.
Thankfully, the river crested three feet below predictions and the impact to our plant has been minimal. That said, it may take a few days to get the plant fully restarted.
At this point, we expect minimal impact to orders that were scheduled to be shipped between now and June 5th. Any customers whose orders may be affected in the short-term will be informed of delays promptly. Depending on when the plant and shipments can restart, there may be some additional disruptions, and as soon as we have more information, we will share.
We are comfortable with the reliability of our supply for these reasons:
Many of you have thoughtfully asked about our employees. We are extremely thankful that we have been able to connect with all Midland-based DuPont Water Solutions employees and everyone is safe. We are partnering with United Way of Midland County in order to support the needs of our neighbors and community as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We are thankful for the safety of our team, the strength of our operations, and our ability to continue to serve you, our customers. We will share more details as they become available.
