Tina Arrowood, of DuPont Water Solutions, Named Sustainability Champion by Business Intelligence Group
Dr. Arrowood Recognized for Her Contributions to More Sustainable Water Practices Used Around the World.
WILMINGTON, Del., August 27, 2025 — Tina Arrowood, Ph.D., the Global Sustainability Leader for DuPont Water Solutions, has been recognized by the Business Intelligence Group as a 2025 “Sustainability Champion” for her contributions to more sustainable water practices used around the world.
Dr. Arrowood, a PhD physical organic chemist and research scientist, has leveraged her role as an innovator, advocate, and sustainability leader to significantly impact SDG 6--Clean Water and Sanitation for All and the decarbonization of the water sector.
She is inspired by the possibilities that water treatment membrane innovations unlock to improve water management. Her advocacy and membrane innovations have contributed to the adoption of wastewater reuse and recycling, including Minimal Liquid Discharge (MLD), and has helped industries achieve more sustainable water management practices by significantly reducing water and power consumption and wastewater generation.
In her recent accomplishments, she led the development and commercialization of the FilmTec™ Fortilife™ element series, which are advanced membrane technologies designed to transform wastewater into a renewed resource. She has also been instrumental in the commercialization of nanofiltration products, which have improved drinking water safety, dairy production, and salt recovery from wastewater.
She also creates ways to translate the impact of advanced water treatment innovations to meaningful claims that inspire adoption and drive change. She supported the development of the Water Solutions Sustainability Navigator digital tool which provides a means to compare the sustainability impact – including energy consumption, chemical use, water recovery and spatial footprint - of technology choices using calculations verified by a 3rd party to be in conformance with relevant ISO Standards.
She put this tool to work and partnered with WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) to prepare an example demonstrating how innovations in reverse osmosis membranes contribute to avoided emissions and the decarbonization of water purification.
“By combining science, circular thinking, and disruptive innovation with a lens of sustainability, Tina Arrowood is helping envision and enable a world in which fresh water is not scarce, but well-managed,” said Gary Gu, Global Technology Leader, DuPont Water Solutions. “We thank the Business Intelligence Group for recognizing her contributions to more sustainable water practices used around the world.”
