DuPont™ AmberChrom™ fine mesh cation exchange resins are microporous (gel) resins based on polystyrene crosslinked with divinylbenzene (DVB) and functionalized with sulfonic acid ligands. These ion exchange chromatography resins are used in the front-end of drug processes to help purify raw materials, adjust pH or desalt, remove surfactants from drug streams, and increase product purity and concentration in crude purifications. With its light crosslinking level, the AmberChrom™ 50Wx2 series provides the most open network of the DuPont™ AmberChrom™ fine mesh cation exchange products and is an excellent choice for applications that need to process drugs and raw materials up to ~ 2700 Dalton molecular weight. There are three products in this 50Wx2 series.
DuPont™ AmberChrom™ 50Wx2 100-200 H fine mesh resin has a mid-range particle size and is well-suited for processes that can tolerate a modest increase in backpressure in exchange for faster kinetics. Screened with 100-200 mesh, approximate particle size range of 75-150 µm. See Product Data Sheet for details.
