DuPont™ AmberChrom™ fine mesh cation exchange resins are microporous (gel) resins based on polystyrene crosslinked with divinylbenzene (DVB) and functionalized with sulfonic acid ligands. These ion exchange chromatography resins are used in the front-end of drug processes to help purify raw materials, adjust pH or desalt, remove surfactants from drug streams, and increase product purity and concentration in crude purifications. With its high crosslinking level, the AmberChrom™ 50Wx8 series provides the tightest resin network of the DuPont™ AmberChrom™ fine mesh cation exchange products and is an ideal choice for applications that need to process drugs and raw materials smaller than ~1000 Dalton molecular weight with minimal swelling. There are three products in this 50Wx8 series.
DuPont™ AmberChrom™ 50Wx8 100-200 H fine mesh resin has a mid-range particle size for processes that can tolerate a modest tradeoff of backpressure in exchange for faster kinetics. Screened with 100-200 mesh, approximate particle size range of 75-150 µm.
